The ability to come up with an idea, sequence it, and then execute the plan, also known as motor planning, is a crucial skill that affects nearly every aspect of our lives. It's so much more than just motor movements. When we look at praxis as a whole, it's a more comprehensive set of skills, of which motor planning is just one component. These skills are essential for interacting with our environment.
This on-demand masterclass will break down the differences between motor planning and praxis and will dive deeper into the education of what impacts praxis skills. We will discuss how it relates to sensory processing (they are so interconnected) and tips for creating a healthy development of praxis skills in infancy. We will then learn how to assess and how to address and treat these challenges in our sessions or at home.
During our assessment lesson, we compare standardized and nonstandardized assessments. This includes a breakdown of how to utilize specific movement patterns through Clinical Observations, to identify possible praxis challenges, and assess routines through observation!
A lot of continuing education courses out there talk about surface level information realted to a particular topic, but not this one. Katie does a wonderful job providing real-life examples and treatment ideas that can be immediately applied to practice. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn more about motor planning!

I really appreciate all the examples you have used and all the resources you have provided! I have already started using some of the checklists. I now have a deeper understanding of not only this topic, but aspects of many others-like sensory processing, play, and regulation. I really would recommend this course to my peers to deepen their understanding of practice! Thank you for compiling a load of things into this one course!

I've been a pediatric occupational therapist for 7 years and while praxis is an area I was familiar with, I knew I didn't have a thorough understanding. This course changed that! Katie breaks each piece of motor planning and praxis down into simple steps, gives great ideas for treatment, and even shows you how to assess for praxis. 10/10 recommend for any therapist new or seasoned!

Great class! I've struggled understanding the differences between motor planning, praxis and similar terms. I have a much better understanding of the information after taking the class. Katie provided great videos and resources to assist with learning the material. She provided very practical tips, strategies, assessments, and treatment ideas that can be implemented immediately into practice. Thank you, Katie!
As an SLP who works with young children, I found this course to be really helpful in understanding how motor planning and praxis challenges show up in therapy. I will feel more confident making referrals and incorporating support strategies into my therapy sessions for children who need support with these skills! I highly recommend this course to any therapist who works with young children.
This is master class was everything I needed and more! Katie walked through every element of motor planning and praxis that there is. This gave me SO MANY treatment ideas to use on my kids. I also was able to bring up questions that I had about my kids that struggle with motor planning. You will leave this class with a wealth of knowledge. Katie is amazing!!
I am leaving this course more knowledgeable and confident to provide services for my students and clients with praxis issues. As a school based OT, this course was such a refreshing re-set to remind myself to include foundational concepts for the students. Additionally, I love the resources and tools you provided in module 5 to put forward into practice. Highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in specializing in motor planning, praxis, or sensory approaches!
The way the information was presented made it so easy to form a new understanding of the subject. Katie's approach was the most thorough, yet easy to understand at the same time. Just excellent. I have paid 5 times the price and not received as much as I did from this class. Would recommend to any professional in this field regardless of the number of years practiced.
I didn't realize how much I needed more education on praxis/motor planning until I saw this presentation! Katie did a phenomenal job with breaking down each aspect of praxis in a way for everyone to understand. It is the best kind of continuing education class as it provides real strategies for both assessment and treatment of praxis that can be implemented almost immediately into OT sessions! Highly recommend this class for all pediatric OTs!
You get lifetime access to this webinar. That means there's no rush to complete it in the next 2 months. Take your time.
Yes! But let's dive into that for a second.
A CEU and a PDU are both units towards your license/certification, but they are measured differently.
1 contact hour = 1 PDU or .1 CEU
1 contact hour with an assessment = 1.25 PDUs for NBCOT
1 PDU = .1 CEUs
These units can typically be applied to your state license and NBCOT. If you are not an OT please check your professional requirements.
This course will provide you 4.375 PDUs for NBCOT after completion of the program and quiz. That is the equivalent of .35 CEUS.
NBCOT no longer requires AOTA pre-approval for the max amount of PDUs per hour, they just require an assessment!
I do not offer refunds since all information and resources are available immediately after purchase.

The Motor-Planning course is excellent and I highly recommend to any pediatric OT. Katie has a wealth of information to share, as well as practical therapy suggestions to include in assessment and treatment sessions with clients. There is so much packed into this 3.5 hour webinar - it is well worth your time and investment.
Thank you Katie for a very insightful masterclass! I loved the way you broke down the information and really gave excellent practical examples! Also lots of great extra resources that will assist in doing a proper assessment, as well as fantastic treatment strategies. I will definitely recommend any parent and therapist to watch this and gain so much for supporting our kids.
Wonderful review of information, along with updates. Katie is so knowledgeable on this subject. Her calm but energetic delivery of the material is easy to listen to and enjoyable. Lots of helpful resources provided too! The layout of the course made it easy to come in and out of the course as I had time to listen.
This was by far one of the most informational and practical classes that I have taken in a long time. I literally used the applicable techniques the next day in practice. Thank you!

Videos and handouts are wonderful! The resources are practical and useful. Ideas and strategies were very well explained and again practical to implement in a school or clinic based setting.
If I could take this over and over again to refresh my memory, I will. So much information available for non-OTs, very easy to understand and is definitely a great help for other pediatric therapists like myself.
I loved the way the material was presented and broken down for better understanding. I also really appreciate the clinical observation assessment piece--I use several of these activities in my evaluations, but to have the additional observations to better explain the possible reasons for challenges with these skills is so helpful.
Katie is extremely knowledgeable about the content that she presents and gives countless treatment ideas/strategies throughout this Masterclass that are so beneficial. I have already started implementing what I have learned for children on my caseload and seen great success towards goals and children’s confidence in their abilities! Don’t miss out on the next opportunity to take this course!
Katie is a gifted presenter! She presented the information in such a comprehensive and thoughtful manner that it actually clarified information from other professional development courses I've taken on praxis. The shared resources add such tremendous value to the Masterclass. I appreciate how much heart and soul Katie has put forth to help others gain a deeper understanding of such a complex topic.
This master class far exceeded my expectations by providing such in-depth information and integrated in such a way that it made sense. Sometimes courses provide a wealth of information but end up like jigsaw puzzle pieces that don't always fit together and you only get a sense of what the image should look like (sense of what you should have learned but not understanding how to apply it to practice). With this course the information was so well-integrated that it made sense and I could fit the puzzle pieces together with a clear image (i.e. can apply this information in practice with improved clinical reasoning skills). Love this course and I hope Katie offers more courses like this one in other areas of practice!
Katie did a great job explaining and breaking down all of the areas of praxis. It was helpful to do a deeper dive into how much sensory impacts praxis. She provided me with a lot of activity ideas and tips to address praxis in sessions. Highly recommend!
This class helped strengthen my understanding of praxis and gave me really helpful and easy to understand visual aids/resources I need for treatment planning to better support my patients with praxis difficulties!
I've been a pediatric OT for 30 years and this course brought to life real life scenerios and an in depth dive into Motor planning which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I truly enjoyed all the materials, from videos to suggested tools, and documented presentations. All was very thoroughly explained with so many examples to get to know the topic better. When I first logged in, I found that the sections of the course were easy to manipulate, visually simply to follow and what I liked was opportunity to leave the comments below every lesson. It's a good way to see what other participants of the class are thinking and by sharing their experiences and asking questions and in the end getting the answers from Katie rest of us are able to get more knowledge and gives us new ideas and can inspire us to ask further more. I have an autistic son who has developmental dyspraxia and I could relate to a lot of things that has been said. Thank you Katie Zelinski and all the participants for their active engagement :)
